Today we celebrate Veterans Day in the United States of America to honor those who served our country. We owe our freedoms and liberties to the brave and noble men and women who put on a uniform each day and go where they are needed around the world. Many have given their lives so that we can live in the freest country in the world. Billy Ray Cyrus sang about one hero who proudly served our country, Sandy Cane. “He left a boy, came back a man. Still many just don’t understand, about the reasons we are free. All Gave Some, Some Gave All. Some stood through for the red, white and blue, and some had to fall…..Think of all your liberties and recall, some gave all.”
So as we go about our day, consider displaying the American flag outside your home to show your pride and appreciation. We should remember those 600,000+ Americans who lost their lives in the fight for our nation’s freedom since it was founded in 1776. In addition to those who died, there are countless numbers of veterans who suffered injuries so I will remember them also. There are many movies and TV shows that depict various wars. Today, I’m watching the Band of Brothers marathon and it makes me even more grateful as I get a front row seat into the lives of our young soldiers, to witness what they endured and fought for during WWII.
Thank you to every American who has served in the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, or Coast Guard. I know each of you gave some, and some gave all for our freedom. I appreciate your service, dedication, and sacrifices. Wishing you a very happy Veterans Day today. Be well.
